Kevin Turner was an American football fullback and linebacker who played for the Philadelphia Eagles and New England Patriots of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at the University of Alabama. Turner was selected by the New England Patriots in the third round of the 1992 NFL draft. He played for the Patriots from 1992 to 1994 and for the Eagles from 1995 to 1999. He retired in 1999 due to a spinal cord injury. After retiring, Turner became an advocate for NFL players with neurological conditions and played a significant role in the class-action lawsuit filed by former players against the league regarding concussion-related injuries. He passed away at the age of 46 due to amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig's disease, on March 24, 2016.
